Senior Designer - Nashville
A Furniture Senior Designer at ID+A works closely with Account Executives to design and specify spaces of any complexity. A senior designer is expected to have a deep understanding of industry products and processes, as well as internal processes. He/she shall be comfortable presenting to and meeting with clients, proposing a variety of furniture and design solutions, fully specifying and pricing a project, and on-site field verifications. Above all, a senior designer must demonstrate a willingness to take the initiative and continuously find opportunities to learn.
Education, Experience + Attributes
Minimum two years’ experience in interior design or contract furniture design.
Bachelor’s degree in interior design/architecture.
State of Tennessee Registered Interior Designer (Preferred)
NCIDQ Certification (Preferred)
Proficient in AutoCAD, CAP, CET, and commercial furniture programs (Scout + INDEAL) – Training will be provided for agreed-upon needs.
Intermediate knowledge of Interior Design process and deliverables and Interior Construction process and deliverables.
Proficiency in Microsoft including One Drive, Teams, and Outlook.

Major Functions of the Position
Space plan and provide wholistic design solutions to customers, not limited to furniture solutions.
Accurately specify and price design solutions.
Continuously improve skills in areas not limited to: product knowledge, software, trends, processes, etc.
Provide mentorship to junior designers and coordinate with Furniture Design Lead to elevate their skills.
Adhere to ID+A internal processes to ensure internal and external customer satisfaction, using problem-solving skills when needed.
Essential Duties:
Communicate effectively with Account Executives to accomplish customer goals, including pre-sale qualifiers like budgeting, estimator tools, and Scout, etc.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, including those in other physical locations, such as Louisville and Lexington, KY.
Present to and meet with clients with or without Account Executive to move design projects through design process.
Deep expert in at least one aspect of furniture design (workstations, walls, ancillary, specific manufacturers, CAP, CET, healthcare, GSA, etc.).
Take initiative in problem solving, both for internal and external problems.
Produce deliverables for each stage of design, not limited to: proposals, revisions, sign-off documents, and installation drawings.
Expert in CET, CAP, MillerKnoll products, and top-tier mfg. partners (SOI, OFS, JSI, etc.).
Field measure and site verification for accuracy.
Perform Design Requirements in ID+A Process including CORE duties.
Participate in Design Audits (self-check, requesting, and performing for others).
Participate in-person and/or virtual training and learning opportunities.
Actively share knowledge with Furniture Design Team.
Work with Interior Construction and Interior Design teams to provide fully integrated solutions.
Provide constant feedback to Furniture Design Lead that may improve processes, training, mentorship, etc.
Senior Interior Designer - Louisville
The Interior Designer III at ID+A works closely with the Interior Designers, Project Designers, and Sales team to design and detail spaces of various complexity. The Senior Interior Designer is expected to have a deep understanding of industry products, graphic standards, and processes, as well as internal processes. He/she shall be comfortable presenting to and meeting with clients, proposing a variety of design and furniture solutions, fully specifying, and detailing a project, and conducting on-site field verifications. The Interior Designer III is also responsible for monitoring contract profitability and Interior Design resources.
Education, Experience and Attributes:
Minimum five years’ experience in interior design field
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in interior design/architecture
KYCID (Preferred)
NCIDQ Certification (Preferred)
Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Suite
Intermediate knowledge of furniture design process and deliverables, interior construction process and deliverables, and DIRTT process and deliverables.
Proficiency in Microsoft including One Drive, Teams, and Outlook.
Major Functions of the Position:
Attract and retain talent by fostering a sense of community through mentorship and continuous improvement opportunities.
Performing the ID Design Essential Duties to assigned projects.
Work with coordinating departments (sales, installation, project coordinators, IT, etc.), as well as Design Leaders, to maintain a unified company-wide selling and design process.
Essential Duties:
Deep expert in most areas of interior design (networking / new business, programming, schematic design, design development, construction documentation, or construction administration).
Solicit, write, revise and produce design contracts.
Create, measure and monitor design process, standards, and deliverables to create efficiencies.
Foster continuous improvement of team by way of mentorship and training opportunities.
Coordinate with additional design pillars to integrate full ID+A solutions across projects.
Monitor time spent on design contracts for maximum profitability.
Attract and retain talent by creating deep experts and fostering sense of community.
Coordinate with subcontractors & project partners
Client presentations and design phase deliverables.
Continuous education
Specifications, visuals, space planning, and interior solutions for customers and projects.
Take initiative in problem solving, both for internal and external problems.
When applicable, constant communication with sales team member(s) who initiated relationship with Client.
